all the world's a stage
As a reminder, have you gotten around to voting on everyone else yet? There's only one other app and I'll be voting very soon, I promise! :)
What are your strengths? I'm a very kind, friendly person. I love making new friends and I'm one of the easiest people in the world to get to know. I'm fairly intelligent, or at least I like to think that I am. I'm extremely open-minded and very, very liberal, both things that I am very proud of. I'm a pretty laidback person. I love simple things and it doesn't take much to make me happy. I'm the definition of a hopeless romantic, something that I consider to be one of my biggest strengths. I'm not afraid to love or get "the shit kicked out of me by love". (Anyone who's seen Love Actually will get that reference.) I'm passionate about the things and people I care about and I love with everything I have. I'm open about everything and I'm one of those people who has like, one secret total. I'm a very genuine person...what you see is what you get. I'm 100% me, like it or not; I will never try to hide any part of me to make myself more appealing for anyone.
Your weaknesses? I am probably the laziest person alive. No matter how important something is, if I don't want to do it, I will do everything in my power to NOT do it. I procrastinate worse than anyone I know, and I get terrible grades in school because of this. I'm also very impatient. I absolutely hate waiting for things, which leads to my absolutely ridiculous road rage. I scream and yell in the car more than maybe anyone that I know. It's a problem haha! I have a quick temper and things make me mad easily but it usually doesn't take me long to get over it. I'm also pretty selfish. I do what I want most of the time, sometimes regardless of what others want or what I know I shouldn't be doing. At the same time, I can be pretty selfless, which just blows my mind because I don't understand how I can be both. Lastly, I'm stubborn as hell. If my mind is set on something, good luck trying to change it. I'm also a person who thinks I'm always right, however, I will be the first to admit that I'm wrong if that's the case.
Your likes? I absolutely LOVE anything Harry Potter related! I love music, politics, reading, stamping, spending time with family and friends, the beach, sushi, dancing, singing in the car when nobody can hear me, romantic comedies, love stories, classic rock, board games, trivia....
Your dislikes? Ignorance, prejudice, intolerance, greed, slow drivers, Miley Cyrus, Twilight, Kristen Stewart, conservatives, liars, the sound of people coughing, onions, people who try to be something they're not, people who are rude for no reason, anime, The Eagles
What do you do with your spare time? I watch tv, read, get online and talk with friends, stamp, and spend time with family and friends.
How about some random skills you pride yourself on? I pride myself on being the best speller I know. I don't have many talents, but knowing how to spell lots and lots of words is something that I've been known for almost my whole life. Seriously, in school when someone needed to know how to spell a word, I was always the one who got asked and that always made me very happy because it was something that I was truly good at. Also, I'm good at games and trivia because I'm super competitive and it's not unusual for me to win. Also, I am the absolute master of Connect Four. I think I've been beaten a grand total of four times EVER in that game hahaha!
How's your sense of humor? I think I have a damn good sense of humor. I can appreciate all types of humor: dark, dry, sarcastic, immature, mature, you name it. I love to laugh and I'd spend all day laughing if I could. I refuse to be friends with people if they can't make me laugh, because it's so important to me to surround myself with people who have a good sense of humor.
What animal would you compare yourself to? Hmm. Maybe a dog, because I'm loyal, friendly, and nice? Haha I don't know :)
Describe yourself in one to three songs. Use any criteria you like - maybe the lyrics suit you, maybe it sounds or feels like you, maybe it reminds you of something or someone, but so long as they have personal importance.
1. Lover, You Should've Come Over- Jeff Buckley
(It works better if you change the "he's" to "she's" and "man" to "woman" and such haha, seeing as I am a girl.) But the reason I chose this song was because it's such a beautiful song with absolutely beautiful lyrics. These lyrics touched me the first time I heard it and I feel like I can completely connect to what he's feeling.
Looking out the door I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations as their shoes fill up with water
And maybe I'm too young to keep good love from going wrong
But tonight you're on my mind so you never know
Broken down and hungry for your love with no way to feed it
Where are you tonight, child you know how much I need it
Too young to hold on and too old to just break free and run
Sometimes a man gets carried away when he feels like he should be having his fun
And much too blind to see the damage he's done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that really, he has no one
So I'll wait for you...and I'll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return
Oh will I ever learn
Oh lover, you should've come over
Cause it's not too late
Lonely is the room, the bed is made, the open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one who dreams he had you with him
My body turns and yearns for a sleep that won't ever come
It's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her
It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It's never over, she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever
Well maybe I'm just too young
To keep good love from going wrong
Oh lover you should've come over
Cause it's not too late
Well I feel too young to hold on
And I'm much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb and blind to see the damage I've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Oh love, well I'm waiting for you
2. Pictures of You- The Cure
This song has long been one of my absolute favorites and it has been since I was really young. The Cure has been my favorite band since I can remember, and this song just reminds me of my childhood and of experiences I had with one of my relationships so it's a pretty personal song for me.
I've been looking so long at these pictures of you
That I almost believe that they're real
I've been living so long with my pictures of you
That I almost believe that the pictures are all I can feel
Remembering you standing quiet in the rain
As I ran to your heart to be near
And we kissed as the sky fell in, holding you close
How I always held close in your fear
Remembering you running soft through the night
You were bigger and brighter and whiter than snow
Screamed at the make-believe, screamed at the sky
And you finally found all your courage to let it all go
Remembering you falling into my arms
Crying for the death of your heart
You were stone-white, so delicate, lost in the cold
You were always so lost in the dark
Remembering you, how you used to be
Slow drowned you were angels, so much more than everything
Hold for the last time, then slip away quietly
Open my eyes but I never see anything
If only I'd thought of the right words
I could have held onto your heart
If only I'd thought of the right words
I wouldn't be breaking apart all my pictures of you
Looking so long at these pictures of you
And never hold on to your heart
Looking so long for the words to be true
And always just breaking apart, my pictures of you
There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart, my pictures of you

A romantic or a realist? Romantic!

WHERE WE LAY OUR SCENE
If the lives of you and everyone connected to you were a Shakespearean play... (Answer that however you like - would you be a feisty female lead/a male ingenue/a laid-back sidekick/the mouthy comic relief/the bitter villain/etc.? Would it be a tragedy/a comedy/a comedy gone wrong/a dark comedy? How would you be introduced? So on so forth.)- Well, I would be the laidback sidekick, I think and I think that it would be a comedy. Despite things that have gone wrong in my life, I can't see it being anything other than a comedy. Nothing has happened to me that would be considered tragic and plus, I'm a pretty happy person and so are most of the people in my life, so yeah, definitely a comedy!
How do you tend to act around your friends? I'm pretty laidback and I'm usually trying to make people laugh. I like to think that I'm pretty easy to talk to because I'm not judgmental and so my friends come to me for advice a lot.
How about your enemies? I don't have many enemies, but I usually just try to steer clear of them or not talk to them if I do see them. I prefer to not associate with people I don't like haha.
How far would you go to help the person you love the most? As far as humanly possible. The people I love are everything to me, and so I would do whatever I needed to do to help them. I couldn't imagine not doing whatever I could to help them!
To strike a blow against someone you hate? You know, there are definitely people that I hate, but I have never hated anyone enough to want to truly destroy their life. Now, if someone were to like, kill one of the people I loved then I think I would change my mind.
To win someone's heart? You can only do so much to win someone's heart. I wouldn't change myself to win someone's heart because then what good would that do me? I want someone who loves me for me, and I don't think that throwing myself at them would be a good idea. As I've said before, I'm a hopeless romantic, and I believe in true love and soulmates and all that, so in my opinion, everyone has that someone for them, someone whose heart you can win over just by being yourself.
To get revenge? Like I said, the only way I would really want to seek revenge on someone is if they really hurt or killed one of my loved ones. In that case, I think I would seriously want revenge. Nothing that would take over my life; I don't think I could ever be obsessed with revenge, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't want revenge for those reasons.
How would you react in the face of impending death? I think that if I knew I was going to die, I'd just try to be as brave as I could possibly be. Death has always scared me more than anything just because of the fear of the unknown. But if I knew I was going to die, I'd hope that I was dying doing something heroic or saving someone else, or dying for a good cause, you know? I'll admit that I've always wanted to be a "hero", someone that dies in a blaze of glory, because then I think that I wouldn't be as scared to die.
What if the rug were pulled out from you for the better - just when things looked bleak, everything turned out for the best, the conflict of the situation was resolved with your life intact? Well that would be just amazing! I wish something like that would happen to me right now! :)
What if on closer examination you were the only one left out of the happy ending - all your friends have whatever it was they wanted but your story was left a loose or unfulfilled end? Well, I won't lie, that would suck, but at the same time, how could I not be happy for my friends? If they're happy, that would make me happy.
What would a happy ending for you entail, anyway? Finding my soulmate. It's as simple as that...I live for love and that's all that's important to me, really. This doesn't mean that I'm someone who needs another person to feel complete, because I don't think that at all. But I love the feeling of being loved and loving someone else, it's like no other feeling in the world.
When/if you fall in love, it'll be with someone who is... funny, a gentleman, open-minded, sarcastic, outgoing, respectful, trustworthy, romantic, and kind.
Which of Shakespeare's plays are you most familiar with? To be honest, the only one that I'm REALLY familiar with is Othello, but I know a little about Romeo and Juliet too.
Would you prefer that voters only consider characters from those plays? Nope.
Do you have a gender preference for stamps? Nope!
Have a picture of yourself or brief description of your looks?
